Edna and Sadie visit

It has been super busy here at the Caverzagie house. Of course with my dogs it is typically busy but we had the addition of Sadie (Basset/Husky mix) a Pet Haven alum and former foster of mine and her new sister Edna. Edna is a husky/greyhound mix and is maybe a year and a half old. She has tremendous energy. Rufus (Great Dane/Greyhound Mix) is in love with her and they play pretty much nonstop. But two big dogs wrestling in the living room can get a little loud. And poor Sadie does her best to join in. It has been a little crazy. But they all keep things interesting. Sadie and Edna go home tomorrow so it will be back to normal for a couple days until Captain comes for his weekly play date. Hope everyone had a safe and yummy Thanksgiving.

Coffee and Chocolate

October is a month of coffee and chocolate. Two of my most favorite things in the world (edible wise). And Halloween is my favorite holiday. But anyway, I am putting the finishing touches on a mosaic that I am doing for our living room. I will post pics when all done. I have been working on making some bookmarks to sell on Etsy. So feel free to check them out. I love Etsy and all the cool stuff you can find there. Here are some photos of the ones I have for sale.

I use glass beads and either wire or hemp cord. They are priced at either 4 or 5 dollars.

What a Labor Day!

Oddly enough I have not read Marley and Me. I think because I feel I have my own Marley to keep me more than on my toes. Yes that would be Annie my Beagle. As vigilant and thorough as I think I am she proves me wrong way too often. Well anyway, yesterday started out pretty good with me making bacon, eggs, toast and coffee for breakfast. Then we headed out for book sales!! Half Price Books mostly, one our favorite spots. We had a nice morning, visited Striderite for slippers, then had lunch and coffee. On getting home we let the dogs out and as they went running out we were wondering why Annie's back was all wet? Well on entering the kitchen I quickly realized it was not water but instead she was soaked with bacon grease.

Well that was the rest of my day. Laboring to get bacon grease off the floor, the cupboards, the tracks she made through the rest of the house, and then of course Annie herself. I had to use Dawn dish soap to cut through the grease in her coat. And it did a great job.

So Annie had tipped the cast iron skillet off the top of the stove and on to the floor (and everywhere else). She is not a tall dog but she has tremendous drive to get things done. At least she waited for the grease to cool off, she was fine, at least on the outside. So now I have one more thing to check off my list in case I dare leave the house, and that list is already pretty long. But I do love this dog!

Back to Blogging

Well it has been a very busy summer and it has gone so fast. And this morning with the cool weather one of my cats (Phoebe) is going crazy. Running up and down the stairs. She just skidded into the couch. What a goof.

Here is one of my mosaics I finished for a friend who was giving it as a gift. It was a hit. Yeah!! I am firing up my oven and starting to get back in the groove of mosaicing. If anyone is thinking of giving one these great leash holders as a gift get your order in now. I am starting to get a few orders already, which is very exciting. One is even a house warming gift. Remember they can be personalized or not and you get to pick the colors. Give me a jingle or email me for more info.

Captain My Captain!

Laura and I drove down to Albert Lea to meet the People for Pets transport from Iowa on Monday. We picked up some fantastic adoptable dogs and three of the cutest puppies ever. I brought Captain home for our new foster.

Captain is around two years old and looks to be a pure Basset. Weighing in at 57 lbs I think most of the weight is in his ears. They are like velvet drapes. Anyway, what a sweet dog. He adjusted very well to our house and is so happy. He just wants belly rubs and to play with toys. He also really likes playing with Rufus our Great Dane mix. He is interested in the cats only to see if they will play, but for the most part they don't want to.

He is a fabulous dog and will fit into a family easily. He is potty trained and has free rein of the house when we run errands. His personality is really starting to come out, and he is just goofy and oh so lovable. He will be at the adoption at the Petco in Richfield on Sat from 10am to 12pm. Come meet Captain and all the other great Pet haven pups.

Millie is adopted!

Fastest fostering ever! We had Millie for only one and a half weeks. She was adopted on Wednesday. The family lives on a sizable piece of land with a couple of horses and lots of room for Millie to play. Her new parents are pretty "go by the rules" people, and this is a good thing for a puppy. It just seemed like the perfect match. And their son is home from college for the summer so Millie will have some extra company. Congrats Millie.

Millie: Busy, Busy Girl

Millie loves Rufus so much she wants to be as close as possible to him. Annie likes her space.

Millie is very busy. She has settled into our routine pretty well. And her personality is coming out more and more. The dogs and I get up pretty early and they go out, do their thing then come in for breakfast. My dogs eat and directly go back to bed. But not Millie, it's go time for her. So she keeps me company in the kitchen while I make coffee and then we have been going back outside to feed the birds and play "Throw the Hippo". She is catching on to dropping the hippo for me to throw. She's so dang cute when she plays.
And we did have a break through last night. Her and Rufus FINALLY started playing. Rufus has been so reserved, but decided a game of chase and tackle would be fun.
Millie is still working on her potty training and is doing a great job. She sleeps in her crate all night with the door open and is also getting the hang of walking on the leash. She is really going to make a family a sweet companion. And who couldn't love those goofy ears.

Meet Millie

We picked up Millie from the Red Lake Transport on Sunday. Her original name was Jane but we needed to change it as we have a german shepherd named Jayne. Very shy and unsure we got her into the car and off we went. She rode great in the car. Good girl! When we got home we introduced her to our dogs one at a time. They all did well. You could see that our dogs were thinking "oh, another dog. Ok when's dinner?" New name for this girl, we came up with Millie. She was not familiar with stairs so we worked on that first. My daughter Elanor is a pro at getting new dogs used to them, and within the day Millie was up and down, no problems. Millie is 8 months old and 30 lbs and all puppy. We are working on the potty training and she already knows to go in her crate for bedtime. As her personality unfolds I will post. So far she is sweet and is very curious about all and any activity. We have a vet appointment today and then hopefully a bath.

New mosaics and dog news!!

We had a VERY busy week last week. It was spring break and we seemed to have a lot of dog action. Sadie a former Pet Haven foster was here from Tuesday till Saturday while her family took a little vacation and Gracie was still here as our current foster. And for a couple days Roxy got to visit. Roxy is another former Pet Haven pup. She is a super sweet little Beagle and we love having her over for playtime with our dogs.
And the great news is that Gracie was adopted on Friday!! What a pot of honey she has fallen into. The mom and dad both work from home and there are three resident kitties. But the best news is that she has a new Basset sister named Beatrice who is one and a half years old. They hit it off great and everyone fell in love with little Gracie Noodle.

Mosaics and dogs

Well we have had Gracie for a little over a week and she is such a doll. Playful and silly and she is a dream on walks (unlike my dogs). She did well at her first adoption event, quiet, a little scared as there was a lot of activity. But she did great. So I don't think she will be our foster dog for too long, although that would be ok. The photo is after some playtime with Rufus.

As for the mosaics, I finished one for Rescue Buddy Boarding. And started on a couple new orders.
Rescue Buddy is a great place to board your dog if you are going out of town by the way. Laura's place is a home away from home. Check it out at rescuebuddyboarding.blogspot.com

Gracie Has Arrived!!

Gracie is all Basset, or maybe that's all ears. We picked her up last Thursday and she has been fitting in nicely with the other dogs. Annie is not fond of her but Annie sees another dog as just more competition for the treat bowl.
Gracie is about 2 years old, spayed, working on the house training and very good on a leash. And being such a puppy still she did chew up one of my shoes! Super snuggly she likes to make herself comfy on the couch next to you.
She will be at the PetCo adoption event on Sat. March 20th so come meet her if you can. Oh the adoption is in Richfield.

Gracie the Basset

We are getting a new foster dog. We were supposed to pick her up today at the vet but there has been a little delay. But that's ok, now we have time to get a new bed and be a little more prepared. So as soon as she arrives I will post some photos. Meanwhile I thought I would post one other mosaicI did. And I have gotten some orders for some new ones, which is very exciting.

Mosaic Dog Leash Hooks

Here are a some of the mosaics that I have been working on. I am starting to sell these for a cool way to hang and organize dog leashes. But they could be used for other things as well like keys or even necklaces. I use Polymer clay so I can do any color upon request, and I can also add your pets name. Email me for more info or questions.

What a beautiful day!

The sun is out and it seems almost balmy! This is how I feel but Elanor is so much better at jumping than I am.
It's been a good day to work on my mosaics in the sun room. I need to finish my current one and then I will post some pics. They are for sale if anyone is interested. So check back.

Trying this again

Giving this Blog another go. Not very computer oriented.
Thought I would add Bobb and Elanor building a snow fort.

Good Day! I have not used this blog for a little over a year.  But I closed my Etsy account and all my current mosaics for sale are at Arti...
