Millie is adopted!

Fastest fostering ever! We had Millie for only one and a half weeks. She was adopted on Wednesday. The family lives on a sizable piece of land with a couple of horses and lots of room for Millie to play. Her new parents are pretty "go by the rules" people, and this is a good thing for a puppy. It just seemed like the perfect match. And their son is home from college for the summer so Millie will have some extra company. Congrats Millie.

Millie: Busy, Busy Girl

Millie loves Rufus so much she wants to be as close as possible to him. Annie likes her space.

Millie is very busy. She has settled into our routine pretty well. And her personality is coming out more and more. The dogs and I get up pretty early and they go out, do their thing then come in for breakfast. My dogs eat and directly go back to bed. But not Millie, it's go time for her. So she keeps me company in the kitchen while I make coffee and then we have been going back outside to feed the birds and play "Throw the Hippo". She is catching on to dropping the hippo for me to throw. She's so dang cute when she plays.
And we did have a break through last night. Her and Rufus FINALLY started playing. Rufus has been so reserved, but decided a game of chase and tackle would be fun.
Millie is still working on her potty training and is doing a great job. She sleeps in her crate all night with the door open and is also getting the hang of walking on the leash. She is really going to make a family a sweet companion. And who couldn't love those goofy ears.

Meet Millie

We picked up Millie from the Red Lake Transport on Sunday. Her original name was Jane but we needed to change it as we have a german shepherd named Jayne. Very shy and unsure we got her into the car and off we went. She rode great in the car. Good girl! When we got home we introduced her to our dogs one at a time. They all did well. You could see that our dogs were thinking "oh, another dog. Ok when's dinner?" New name for this girl, we came up with Millie. She was not familiar with stairs so we worked on that first. My daughter Elanor is a pro at getting new dogs used to them, and within the day Millie was up and down, no problems. Millie is 8 months old and 30 lbs and all puppy. We are working on the potty training and she already knows to go in her crate for bedtime. As her personality unfolds I will post. So far she is sweet and is very curious about all and any activity. We have a vet appointment today and then hopefully a bath.

Good Day! I have not used this blog for a little over a year.  But I closed my Etsy account and all my current mosaics for sale are at Arti...
